Join me and Redux Contemporary Art Center to learn some new creative skills in the North Carolina Mountains! In this course we will brush up on the essential skills of metalsmithing and grow your bench skills to the next level. We will cover metal piercing, sawing, filing, soldering, polishing, and finishing. Then we will move onto more challenging techniques like chain making and prong setting gemstones through project based instruction. Each student will leave the class with a pair of earrings or pendant, at least one handmade chain, and a piece of jewelry featuring a prong set stone. This course would be great for either a beginner or someone looking to grow their jewelry making skills. **Perfect option if you want to stay for both weeks of instruction or if you have previously taken Metalsmithing Fundamentals from me at Wildacres.
